Hopefully I have the right location for this question but anyway, new to movable type and coming over from the Joomla cms, I am trying to figure out something and it exists on the movabletype.com website.
If you look at the top menu tabs on the site, and click on it, you see a page of content, but if you go to the same top menu and the submenus show and click to enter, you are taken to a page in that category. What I am trying to figure out here is this:
I first thought it was folders with pages in them (hence the sub-menus to pages) but then realized, no, it can't be, and that the top menu tab is actually a category (or am I wrong?) with each page on the drop down submenu being entries? So for example, the first menu on their site is "Products" and clicking on it shows a page of html content -- is this page actually an "entry" but using a template without the typical blog permalink, date, etc in it or is it something else? Then the sub-menus on this Products one, are "Movable Type" "Enterprise Solution" "Community Solution" which I assume are linking directly to the "Entry" of each -- again with a template that has the date, permalink etc tags removed?
Hope this made sense?
I am trying to get a concept like the Movabletype menu done because I have a lot of pages from my Joomla site to bring over that exist in different sections and categories, and then of course there's the blog news postings (for the blog part).
Thanks in advance
**Quick update: I now know how from finding this post: http://forums.sixapart.com/index.php?showt...movabletype.com
So it is a folder but you create pages in that. So for the first page of each folder (to resemble movabletype's own site) you create the first one as index.html and throw your so-called "intro" content for this area of the site and then make more pages...So for the example above it would be like this:
Products (Tab Menu) (folder) with first page as "index"
Movable Type (sub menu) is another page titled "mt4.html"
Enterprise Solution (sub menu) is another page titled "enterprise-solution.html"
