Full Version: Comment Form Not Showing Up?
Movable Type Community Forum > Using Movable Type > Commenting System

The comment form is not showing up.

I only have changed the header and footer module and replaced with my own... only some styling changes made.

I have anonymous comments accepted.

In the registration settings I have allow registration allowed selected...

I don't get it... The comments form won't appear....

I have even tried putting <$MTInclude module="Comment Form"$> in the entry template But nothing???

Thanks,

Scott

What's the solution please. We have the same symptom on one blog. Very frustrating.

This happens to me too - I have allowed all to comment without registering. But the comment form only shows up for a few seconds, then it disappears. In addition, if people DIO register, they never get an mail with their account info so that they can log in.

Another odd thing is that I keep trying to change the fonts in the styles, on one reload, I was able to see the font but I lost all other formatting, then it suddenly reverted back to old fonts and the formatting came back on next reload.

any help would be appreciated!

Did you rebuild after allowing anyone to comment without signing in?

Go to System Overview(top right) -> Settings, which should drop you into the "System: General Settings" page.
Is the System Email field empty?

my problem is that in order to comment, users must first register with Moveable Type. At the bottom of the registration page is the usual security "capcha" box, for users to type in the letters they see in the box. My problem is THE BOX IS EMPTY! No one can register to comment on my site at all, except one person who contacted the site administrator who authorized her himself.

Any ideas out there? I'm just an author, with no understanding of this stuff.

You really need to start your own topic rather than asking the question in everyone elses topics.

The first question is do you have image magick installed? You can find this out by running mt-check.cgi
