I tried to move my blog to the minimalist purple style, however, it just made all my entries aligned to the middle and made my headings purple. Can someone help me fix this?

looks like you were moving from MT3 or less.

There have been a number of changes in div names. Banner has become Header for example. I also see divs called centre and sidebar rather the alpha, beta, gamma of current templates.

Is this a custom template or can you refresh the template set and rebuild?

I tried to rebuild it several times and with several different styles. It does the exact same thing no matter what style I choose or how many times I rebuild it. I liked the way it looked before, and now it just looks crappy. I wish there was a number I could call to get someone to just talk me through fixing it, but unless I pay for the version, that's not an option. It's very frustrating! I do appreciate your help, though!

The problem is that the template and styles do not match. The templates as custom template, not default template so it does not matter what styles you apply, none will work.

You either need to customise the stylesheets to match your template or Got to manage>templates and in the bottom right you will see a refresh templates blog templates.
