Full Version: Pay Someone To Upgrade

Hi MT COmmunity.

I want to pay someone who KNOWS, without a shadow of a doubt, what they're doing.

I would like to upgrade from 3.2 to 3.3.

(I'm really being pushed to do this so that I can install the Majordomo Photo Gallery.)

I know. 4.0 is so much better, incorporates so many more features, etc.

But I'm familiar with 3.x, and all of my templates are based on it, and I'm not ready to invest the time to rebuild everything just yet.

So, I'd like someone to move me from 3.2 to the most recent form of 3.3.

I'd do it myself, but it seems like every time I try to do one of these, there's a snag that takes me a week or more to figure out.

And this time, I just want it to work.

There are 31 web sites (blogs) controlled by this installation of MT, so I really can't afford to have it go down during the installation, or not work once the upgrade is complete.

If you feel completely confident in your ability to handle this upgrade, please PM me or respond here to this post. I think $50-$100 sounds fair, but let me know if you have something else in mind.

Thanks,

Jonathan

I'm just bumping this... I don't know if $50-$100 isn't enough, or if I came across as too demanding or something in my first post... would just really like some help getting this migration done and am happy to pay someone to either do it for me or help me with it.

Please let me know if you're available/willing to help. Thank-you!

There's a list of consultants in the wiki you might have a look at. (Disclaimer: I am not listed there, and am booked anyway, so have nothing in particular to gain from the following comments.)

Without getting too far into it, I'd say not unless someone was doing you a favor.
You might note that upgrade service from Six Apart themselves(which may be an option for you) would cost $200. (We'll ignore it'd be an upgrade to 4.x; price was similar before.) And that's ignoring that you have a fairly large installation you expect to come through with no problems. That's potentially a lot of checking around after the upgrade, depending upon how different those various blogs are from each other in terms of config, templating, etc.

That's good to know. I will definitely check out the Wiki. Thanks for responding!

Warmest,

Jonathan
