So I can set <mt:IfCommenterIsEntryAuthor> to change my style for an entry author comment but how do I actually leave an Authors comment? Do you do it through Movable Type itself? And were?

You probably dont have a comment system setup to sign ins, so the system has no idea its you. If you logged in as yourself and you have that tag correctly implemented, you should be good to go.
