I am absolutely fucking sick of pornspam, and I am shutting down any website accounts that I am no longer using to stem the flow of spam.

I do not use Movable Type anymore. I have not logged into this forum since 2003, and I wouldn't have logged into it today if I hadn't gotten a message notification. WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE PORNSPAM.

Since I am not using this account, and it's just one more way for assholes to spam me, I would like to delete it. However, I have searched the forums, searched the help section, and gone over every setting in my account, but I cannot find a way to delete this profile.

If somebody knows how to delete an account on this forum, please tell me, so I don't have to waste even more of my life deliberately getting kicked off here just so I can shut off one more source of spam.

Unfortunately, we generally do not delete forum accounts, as deleting a forum account also deletes all forum posts ever posted using that account. However, the following options are available to you:

* If you do not wish to receive e-mail notifications of new private messages, you may click the "My Controls" link at the top of any forum page after logging in to the forums, then click "Email Settings" under "Options" in the left sidebar, uncheck the "Send a notification email when I receive a new private message" setting, and click the "Amend my e-mail settings" button.

* If you no longer wish for other forum members to be able to send you private messages, you may click the "My Controls" link at the top of any forum page after logging in to the forums, then click "Board Settings" under "Options" in the left sidebar, set the "Disable your personal messenger?" setting under "Personal Messenger Options" to "Yes", then click the "Change my Account Options" button.
