I just installed Movable Type 4.2 and want to try out dynamic publishing. The section for "Publishing Options" does not show up on my "Publishing Settings" page as seen in the Movable Type 4.2 documentation:

There, the screenshot shows subheadings for "Publishing Paths" and "Publishing Options" under which there is a setting for "Publishing Methods".

My screen shows subheadings for "Publishing Paths", "Archive Options", and "Module Options." There is no "Publishing Options" with the "Publishing Methods" setting.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Looks like something didn't make into into the final build.

Anyway to enable dynamic publishing go to each individual template and expand the template options item found there. The option to set it dynamic or static is found there.
