Full Version: How To Get The Thumbnail In The Entry Instead Of The Text Link?

Hi all

nice to meet you here :-) as I will be learning MT over the coming weeks. So far - very impressive!

OK, so I am trying to put thumbnails pics in my entry and have them link to the full-size version. (MT v4.2). All works as per the docs, except for one thing- after inserting the image and choosing to place a thumbnail and link it to the full-size image, then instead of seeing the thumbnail in the entry I see some code where the image would be and the <a> tag which links to the full-sized version is wrapped around mere text - something like "View image", rather than wrapping around a reference to a thumbnail. Why? How to fix that?

thanks,
-Govinda

Do you have a link to a published example?

Shot in the dark here, but I seem to remember that happening to some new bloggers who used the "upload file" in the dropdown menu rather than the "insert image" icon within an open entry form. Any chance that's the case here?

No, I used the "insert image" icon. And to 'OtherNiceMan' I reply - I don't have a link yet because I am not allowed to play with the live stuff yet (for good reason! ;-). I have apache/MT setup on my MacOS-10.5 imac here at home while I learn/test.

Is it possible that the issue is solely caused by the fact that I don't have imageMagick installed yet? I was told that MT may require some apache plugin/module like imageMagick before it can do any thumbnails at all.

Thanks!

Yes. MT doesn't make thumbnails, ImageMagick does.
