Full Version: Unique Category Pages?

Hello all,
Well, one of my clients has eight categories...but they want distinctive text to go on each category page as a description of the category.
I'm looking for a way to accomplish this, given the fact that the archive templates are only 3 pages in all...so each category reads off of the entry list page.
Is there a way to create separate templates for each category? If so, how do I link to them?

Thanks so much. This would be a huge help!!!

This is two very different questions.

If you just want a particular chunk of text, or even markup, to appear on each page, use the Category Description field. You'll find that by editing any given category. Then use the CategoryDescription tag to output it.

If you need entirely different layouts, this trick still works, but note that the IfCategory tag is now built into the app; you won't need the plugin.
