I am going crazy udgrading to mt 4.2. My error message:

QUOTE

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/mt/mt-upgrade.cgi
on this server.
Apache/2.0.51 (Fedora) Server at www.hautenotes.com Port 80

I have the mt folder set to chmod 755
all the .cgi files set to chmod 755

I overwrote the hole mt folder and overwrote the hole mt-static folder in the public-html folder.
I checked the server requiremnets with mt_check.cgi
- all there
I am hosting with carpathiahost

I just went directly to your mt-upgrade.cgi and it displayed the page OK. Have you sorted this?

NO. if you try to install you get the error message.

So it is failing on the redirect after asking for your credentials?

Does your config file use absolute of relative paths?
