I've been running a MT blog for several years at www.yesbutnobutyes.com
I just upgraded to 4.2 and want to take advantage of the community features, so I set up a forum at forum.yesbutnobutyes.com.
All the existing registered users of my blog can now sign in using the same username ands password to both sites. However...
1) The signed in status does not transfer from one site to another. So if they sign in on the main blog and move over to the forum, they have to sign in again. Is there any way to make the sign-in persistent across both subdomains?
2) While I only want users to have permission to comment on the blog, I want them to have permission to comment AND post (create new topics) on the forum. Do I have to go back over all existing members and grant them this permission manually? Or can that be automated?
3) How do I set this as a default for new registrations? (ie permission to comment on main blog, and permission to comment AND post on the forum.
Thanks - I really like the potential of the new platform, but the documentation leaves a lot to be desired.
