I'm upgrading (http://crankyprofessor.com) from 3.66 to 4.21 and have a weirdness with a folder.

I can SEE a folder called 'support.' Whenever I try to do anything with it I get:

>>Server said: /crankyprofessor.com/mt-static/support: No such file or directory

The blog is showing up, but when I go to the Dashboard I see these error messages:

>>The directory you have configured for uploading userpics is not writable. In order to enable users to upload userpics, please make the following directory writable by your web server: /home/crankypr/crankyprofessor.com/mt-static/support/uploads

--and--

>>Movable Type was unable to write to its 'support' directory. Please create a directory at this location: /home/crankypr/crankyprofessor.com/mt-static/support, and assign permissions that will allow the web server write access to it.

I keep trying to delete the folder, change permissions on it, write over it, whatever - nothing seems to work. And I can't create a full new Entry. I can create a title (see crankyprofssor.com - 'Test') but I can't put anything in the body file. And my categories have disappeared!

Further

OK - I still can't delete the weird /support folder, but I changed the name of /mt.static to /placeholder, deleted the rest of its contents, and uploaded a fresh copy of /mt.static. That seems to have partially worked - I can now type entry text, but I'm still getting those messages on my Dashboard. Odd!!
