Does anyone know of a plugin or maybe something built into MT 4.2 that will allow me to post news stories as links to a page and then have a few of those show up on the homepage?
Okay, maybe that didn't make the most sense. I would like to create a page that is just a long list of newslinks. The links would link directly to the respective stories (kind of like how DrudgeReport.com does it) - then i would like that say, the 10 most recent of those to be posted in a module on the homepage--- anyone?
and if it could be a rss feed, that would be even better....
this might be something that has to be custom built, but it seems like something that might already be out there.....

Link Roller?
http://plugins.movalog.com/link-roller/ if they are external links.
If all the news reports are just local blog entries then it is just a case of modifying the main index page, no plugins required.

well what i did was to download FeedForAll - it's a desktop app that will generate an XML feed and publish on a site - then i went to feed burner and setup an account and used their tool for creating a javascipt script that i placed in a module - set the options to only show the first 5 items in the feed
now i just need to figure out how to create a MT Page that will display all the feeds -
i'd also like to make a webversion to generate the xml feed as opposed to purchasing FeedForAll - so my client can generate links from anywhere
it's seems like such a basic thing to do, not sure why i can't find any simple turn key solutions... all the software out there wants to generaet a feed from an existing feed, i want something where i can type in a Title and a URL (always off site) and it just adds it into the xml file - if it was database driven so it could be easily updated that would be even better.....

Well LinkRoller will allow you to enter a title and URL. These are stored as assets, you can then create a feed template.
