This is an intermittent problem in MT 4.16 that solves itself if I wait - sometimes it takes an hour or so.

So I create a new entry. Sometimes I want to edit it, or add a category.

I choose edit entry and all I see is the TITLE. The BODY field is blank. The CATEGORIES don't even show up for choice.

Now if I wait 20 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour and try it again I usually don't have any problem.

Occasionally, though more rarely, something similar happens when I am trying to create an entry. I choose CREATE and all I am allowed to do is type a TITLE. The BODY field remains blank - I can't even get a cursor to show up in it. If I quit MT's portal and restart the portal I can usually go ahead and create an entry.

Any idea of what's up? This is annoying but not fatal - but it has never happened to me with previous versions of MT (I've been using it since 1.something or other).

Make sure the URL you enter into your browser to access your installation of MT is exactly the same as the one in your mtconfig.cgi file. If the mtconfig.cgi URL has the top-level "www." domain, you should be using that in your browser as well. In other words, if the URL in your mtconfig.cgi file reads "http://www.mysite.com/mt/mt.cgi," that's what you should type into your browser. If it reads "http://mysite.com/mt/mt.cgi," type that in instead. I don't know why this works, but it did for me.

Now if only someone would solve the 500 Internal Server Error problems....
