Full Version: Problem With Archive Types Overriding Each Other

I've had this problem for a while and was hoping upgrading to 4.2 would solve it.

I create an archive template. I give it an archive path. I want to use the same type template to produce a different archive page (example: an entry template type. one creates an xml page one creates a html page). Each time I go into one of the templates and create the archive location, it overwrites every other template of the same type. Also, if I create two locations for one template to write to, it also overwrites (so all the locations become the same one).

It's making me crazy. Has anyone seen this before? Anyone know how to solve it? I'd like to stay with MT (we've used it for close to 5 years now), but this one problem is wreaking havoc with the site.

trying to get my head around the problem. Can you put it into small steps so that I can try and reproduce it? Thanks

Sure.

1. Go to Design Templates

2. Click on "Entry" in Archive Templates

3. Click on Template Options

4. Click on Create Archive Mapping

5. Click "Add" button with "Entry" selected

6. Choose an entry path

7. Repeat 1-6 above, but choose a different entry path

You should now have two entry archive types created. My problem is that every time I chose a new entry type, it overrides the previous chosen. So I have entry types listed, but with the same path.

Wow, hey Jen...guess what? ...I know exactly what you're talking about. At least I know it's not me.
