I'm working on a blog that is about tips on saving money. So I want to find a good way of organizing so that it doesn't necessarily feel so bloggy (and doesn't alienate non-blog readers) and I'm trying to decide how to use this organizational method that I have in mind.

There will be multiple bloggers, who will either categorize or tag with the following:

Easy, Medium, Hard
Cheap, Moderately Cheap, Expensive

(and obviously the verbage will be changed...)

So I'm trying to decide what would be the best way of organizing this. I think it might be odd if I had them among the categories, but at the same time, you can't really do much with tags, other than show a cloud... no way of making an RSS out of it.

Any way that I can have maybe two widgets where the original category list omits those, and then I have an additional widget where it shows the ranking as above?

Maybe I'm making this too complicated. Anyone have ideas?

Thanks.

I'd probably use categories for this, based on your description. To keep this separate from other category options you might use these as subcategories of the Value category, for example. So the results would be:
Value > Cheap
Value > Moderately Cheap
Value > Expensive
Difficulty > Easy
Difficulty > Medium
Difficulty > Hard

Then you can filter and modify the display by using something like <mt:If tag="CategoryLabel" eq="Value">...</mt:If> to modify the display for each widget. FYI, I think there's an RSS feed for tags on the default search page, if you want to go that direction, too.

Those are good ideas. After I wrote that post, I had a feeling that I COULD in theory do a feed for tags by using a search query. Thanks!
