Newbie here.

Is there a way to create a widget that pulls out the excerpts of unpublished entries?

I'd like to make a teaser in a homepage sidebar of new articles/entries to be published.

Or if I have to publish the entries, is there a way for these entries not to show up on the blog or archive indices?? Just have the excerpt show up in a sidebar widget?
