Full Version: Plugin Will Not Modify Mysql Db Schema Upon Enabling
Movable Type Community Forum > Other Product Discussion > Bugs and Odd Behavior

Currently I am using 4.23 hosted by Yahoo. The upgrade from Yahoo's provided 3.2 installation went perfectly. No issues except for some dumb yahoo tags.

After upgrading, I attempted to enable the Widget Plugin. As a result Movable Type indicates that it must be upgraded. I click "continue" and enter the site admin user id and password. After which it appears that the upgrade begins and ends successfully. However nothing displays in the blank textbox AND when i navigate back to the blog control panel it tells me that it is "time to upgrade" again and again and again..this process just continues forever until i disable the plugin by updating a flag in the sql tables...same goes for the notifixious plugin

I'm assuming that the plugin upgrades are not making the necessary DB schema changes in MySQL.

1. Can someone tell me if they've seen this behaviour and if so how to resolve?
2. Is there a way to tell if the schema changes were made and i'm in left field?

I've verified that the user in the mt-config file has all permissions to the blog database.

Thanks for the help.

When I hear about movable type hosted on Yahoo! I cannot think of anything but a server switch!

I can assist you with the transition blog and you can forget about odd issues with that solution...

The Widget Manager plugin should be disabled after installing 4.2x, because the feature is a part of the core now. The plugin is there simply for the upgrade, to migrate data from the plugin to core settings.
