Opps should say "styles" don't show up (I'm typing challenged)

OK - I installed 4.32 and created a blog for testing.
new blog uses mt-static4 folder for static publishing
old blog used mt-static

I upgraded the old blog to 4.23 from 3.34 and set the mt-config to use mt-static4 for static publishing.

Now the style does not show up at all.

I tried rebuilding the templates - no go

What do I have to do to get my new style working?

TIA

Do you have a link please?
Phill M
I will have in a few minutes - I reverted to 3.34 this morning...
Thanks

OK, I re-upgraded, re-uploaded the styles to my mt-static4 folder, published the site and got this:

http://98.221.102.88:1226/CoRoBri-2/

It should be the tristan 4.2 style...

I tried resetting hte templates to the factory defaults also..

It SHOULD look like this:

http://98.221.102.88:1226/CoRoBri-4/

thanks

There are a lot of changes in the style sheets between mt 3 and mt4. For example banner is now header, pagebody seems to be content. Looking at the source CoRoBri2 seems to be some strange mix of mt4 and mt3 layout code.
Phill M
How do I fix the problem?
I don't want to delete all the pages and start over...

OtherNiceMan
You don't need to delete, it is just a question of renaming a few elements

In your template you can go through and do some renaming (based quick on side by side comparison of html & styles)

layout-two-column-right main-index = mt-main-index layout-wtt

banner = header
banner-inner = header-inner
banner-header = header-name
banner-description = header-description
pagebody = content
pagebody-inner = content-inner

Add id="mt-community-blog" attribute to the body tag

That should bring it more inline.
Phill M
Not to sound stupid, but do I need to modify all the templates? Or just the main index one?

too bad I can't copy the working template from corobri-4 over
Phill M
Tried something new...

I backed up the blog (ver 4.23), set up a new blog (ver 4.23), everything good

I imported my entries.. looking good except a few missing graphics

I published the site - crash and burn - right back where I was
OtherNiceMan
You should be able to, as part of refresh templates you can option to apply a new template set instead.
Phill M
OK , everything is working (excuse me while I do the little victory dance)....

OK I'm back. Here's what I did....

I reinstalled MT 4.23 and created a brand new database

I created a new static folder and uploaded my files from my MT installation

I opened the OLD blog and exported all the entries to a text file.

I opened the new blog and imported the blog entries
I published and damn if everything didn't come up the way I wanted.

The blog now looks like this:

http://98.221.102.88:1226/corobri-4/

OtherNiceMan, if you are in the New York City area over the summer, I will gladly take you and guests (up to 3) out for a day on the Raritan Bay on the CoRoBri. You've earned at least that.

Thanks so much for all your help

No problem.

Thanks for your offer, if I make it over the pond this year I'll look you up.
