Full Version: Multiple Blogs On One Page

Forgive me if this is not the correct place for this question. We are considering using MT for a news site. And I had some questions that the FAQ and documentation I've been able to find does not answer.

Can you set up regular columns as individual blogs? Can you configure a template so multiple blogs appear on one page?

On contre-feux.com when you click on any article there appears a right column adjacent that contains links to content by the same author, related content and other content in the same category along with commenting and rating features. Are all these off the shelf capabilities?

Will the MT templates be familiar to someone with Type Advanced template experience?

Thanks

Yes, this is quite possible. Alternatively, you can have all authors post to a single blog, but separate posts out based on category, tag, author, keyword...

Content by the same author: yes
Related content: you can do this with tags (i.e. other entries with the same tags). There may be a plugin for more advanced relations.
Other content in same category: yes
Commenting: yes
Rating: yes, in the community module (comes with MT pro).

Sorry, I'm not familiar with Type Advanced. MT uses proprietary tags in its templates, but they'll be easy to pick up for anyone familiar with HTML.
Hope that helps!

Thanks that's exactly the info I was looking for.

Note: I meant to say Type Pad advanced templates (not type).

Ah, okay, you should be fine. MT and Typepad share a lot of tags.
