I have a MT Var that I'm setting on the home page. I just realized that this variable does not get recognized on the entry pages. Where can I set the variable so that it's recognized on all template pages?

You'll need to set the variable on all the other templates. Or, if you've got a template module included in all templates (such as HTML Head or Banner Header in the default templates), you can set the variable there.
