Suggestions on where I can find info on MT login. I would like to communicate to the user whether he/she is logged in (ie "you're not logged in" or Welcome Bob). thanks

Well, if a user is logged in, their name will appear in the top MT menu bar - it says user:kristine (with a link to my profile) when I'm logged in.  If a user is not logged in, they won't get to that part of the screen at all; only the login window.

Does that help?

Thanks for the response. At least I know I should be a bit more clear about what I would like to do.

User comes to my site/weblog and sees current posts, a cal, archives, etc, and a message in the side bar that says, "You're not logged in .. there are 3 users active". Once logged in, the side bar message would read, "Dario is logged in and so is Joe, Harry and Ted"

This is to be a family site and I would like to keep bits of it secure, as well as use the user authentication process to take care of webmail (but that is a seperate thread).

Does that explain it better? huh.gif

Maybe you could use javascript to check for the presence of the MT login cookie?

Sorry. Is there an icon for me being a non-technical person. I am technical enough to get into trouble, but little else.

Girlie - do you know of a canned solution? Or some useful reading material?
